Wind Monitoring
At the moment, if you want to erect a sizeable wind turbine, you generally have to put up a wind data mast first.
This can be anything from 30m to 50m high, with anemometers on top to measure wind speeds at the height from the ground your turbine will operate at. An anemometer is a device used to measure wind speed and is a simple first step to calculating how much electricity, and subsequently money, that a turbine would produce on your site. The monitoring equipment should be erected for at least 3 months to a year which will give you a more accurate reading than provided by the National Wind speed Database.
We have NRG and Vector Instrumentation for our masts or we can provide the instrumentation of your choice. Both are certified with the Vector having the most recognisable and best certification (MEASNET) for lenders.
The type of instrumentation is down to you, the turbine manufacturer or your lender and we can also recommend the best options available. Each type is of the best quality to stand up to 3 to 12+ months monitoring on the desired site.
