It has been confirmed today in a quarterly statement by the DECC that there will be no cut to medium scale biomass rates on the 1st April.
VG Energy has contacted OFGEM to clarify that the planned rate cut from 5.24p/kWh to 2.91p/kWh has been delayed until it can gain parliamentary approval. The next official review date is now 1st July 2017.
Steven Rawding, VG Energy Managing Director said “This unexpected turn means that our clients have a little longer to take advantage of the 5.24p/kWh rate. For our clients that can act quickly, this will have an enormous impact on their medium sized biomass systems, reducing the payback term dramatically”.
